Description
The technological developments of the 21st century have led to redefine the role of the urban library in the city. The architectural renovation of Beit Ariela library is related to these changes and created an innovative concept of a public hosting space who offers more than just knowledge, but also a unique and free meeting place for Tel Aviv residents. The location of the building in the heart of Tel Aviv's cultural center is the key to transform the entire complex into a dynamic urban center, while preserving the original brutalist architectural language of the original structure. In order to create a welcoming and inviting space that emphasizes the connection between the interior and the environment, the ground floor was renovated to a transparent and bright floor and more openings were added from the library's entrance plaza to the square between the library and the museum.
